It’s been an unusual day for us. Bad weather has forced us to remain in our tents. The good news is that the harsh southerly winds have pushed the ice 10 km further north just since last night. So even without skis on our feet, we have made progress towards the North Pole. Our barometer shows we’re right in the middle of a low-pressure zone, which often promises poor weather conditions.
We’re anxiously waiting for tomorrow’s weather forecast, hoping that we can continue. However, if the weather is just as bad as now, we may have to resign ourselves to spending another day in the tent. All is well. It’s good to relax and unstress – but one day of rest is more than enough.
Our current position is N89˚11’ and E90˚, still drifting northwards.
