On Midsummer’s Eve, Børge Ousland and Thorleif Thorleifsson plan to sail from Oslo, in a daring attempt to sail through both the Northwest and Northeast passages during one and the same season. As soon as they have rounded the southern coast of Norway, they will chart a northerly course. This, of course, will merely be a prologue to the challenges that await them. Can their trimaran survive the challenge of ice-filled Arctic waters?
The months to come will surely be exciting! We’ll be bringing you daily reports and photos from the expedition.

NB! Here is a comprehensive presentation of Børge and Thorleif’s expedition, their vessel, and highlights from the story of those who have sailed these waters before them.

This is the route that Thorleif and Børgen will be sailing.

Many years’ experience and thorough preparation are necessary for such a journey.

To be on the safe side, the hull is reinforced with Kevlar.
