South Pole Jubilee Expedition 2011
14th December 2011 marks the 100th Anniversary of Amundsen and his men planting the flag at the Geographical South Pole. We will mark this most dramatic conquering in Exploration history by tempting a South Pole assault along the route made famous in 1911.
From the Ross barrier, we will tackle the daunting Axel Heiberg Glacier before heading towards the Pole along the highest, coldest and toughest route possible. The aim (whisper it), it to get there in time for the celebrations in the 14th!
Then will part of the team continue out another 1140km to the coast on the other side to complete a truly unique crossing.
Follow our friends here day by day as the fight their way south!
