Climbing up
Tuesday: Last night the horses turned back and they enjoyed a beautiful and quiet camp. The weather was so good they even had dinner out in the free! The day with the horses was a great and very different experience, and reality stuck this morning as they started to carry their loads up the last valley to the ice.
The weather held out and the surroundings were absolutely stunning. They are some 7-8 km from the point they hope to enter the Glacier. Though they recon they have to half their loads and carry twice not to burn to much energy.
The Nef Glacier is now looming over them and life is good. Hopefully the weather will stay good so that they get maximum visibility as they negotiate the first, tricky part of the ice.
Bengt send his greetings to his kids and his wife (Børge and Lars join in on that one!).
