Northern Passage 2010 – the Route

On Midsummer’s Eve, Børge Ousland and Thorleif Thorleifsson sailed from Oslo, in a daring attempt to sail through both the Northwest and Northeast passages during one and the same season. As soon as they rounded the southern tip of Norway, they charted a northerly course up along the Norwegian coast. This, of course, has merely be a prologue to the challenges that await them. Can their trimaran survive the challenge of ice-filled Arctic waters?

The months to come will surely be exciting! We will be bringing you daily reports and photos from the expedition.
