Camp3, Cold night, warm and overcast in the morning
Cold night but overcast and warm in the morning.
We walked down to Mollesjokk mountain hut, and had our midday lunch break inside. Then we went on up to higher ground and are now camped just below «Hundevidda»
We saw a lot of Ptarmagains/Grouse yesterday.
All good!
Cheers, :)
Bengt
Camp2, What a day!
What a day!
Warm weather (-5º) and good sliding. Rolling hills in the beginning of the day, then it flattened out.
Nice colors in the sky, deep red in one direction and deep blue the other.
Now we are camped on the big lake Lesjavri. Tonight we had Northern lights starting to show, but they didn't quite get off.
Temp is going down, and we can hear the ice is cracking as it shrinks in the cold... It's great to be here!
Cheers,
Bengt.
We are on the move, camp 1
Camp 1: Everybody showed up as planed in Alta, but one luggage waited to be present until 12 o’clock today Thursday, which made it a late start...
We got up to Stilla as the sun started to go down.
Walked in twilight across the first lakes and arrived in first camp more or less in the dark. Minus 6 Degrees, low wind an good sliding.
All good!
Cheers, :-)
Bengt
Ready for Finnmarksvidda !
In just over a couple weeks team members will meet in Alta, Finnmark, and after some last preparations and a night of sleep they will start this winter training crossing, all the 120 Km to Karasjok.
We will be in touch as much as weather and time allows it and post news and position on this blog so progress can be followed.
