After flying to Longyearbyen in Svalbard, and then the floating Barneo Ice camp, our team composed of guide Bengt Rotmo and Odd Ingve were dropped off from the helicopter at 89 degrees North, starting point for this adventure.
We received an Iridium message this morning but reception was extremely poor and hard to copy. They went “to bed” late last night, and after a lazy morning were very excited and moving today. A little bit of wind and temperature close to 40 degrees. Below zero, of course!
Should be getting another message, maybe tonight, and hopefully photos will come along with it!
