Homing in on the North Pole
Camp 6, tirsdag/onsdag: De nådde Nordpolen i natt kl 23.15 etter utrolige 14 timer på ski. Nå ligger de i camp på Klodens øverste punkt!
Dagen var fantastisk vakker med strålende sol, men bitende kald. Med sur vind fra nordøst og neste -30°C måtte de gjemme seg bak fulle ansiktsmasker og briller. Alt ble iset ned, men ingen nølte med å gå på.
Isen ga dem en siste leksjon i varianter og hindringer. Det var masse store skruis partier, 2 råker hvor svømmedrakten måtte frem og en diger råk som de brukte 2 timer på å fine et sikkert sted å krysse.
Men de viste utrolig stammina og ble rikelig belønnet med selve Nordpolen. Rapportene i dagtidlig forteller om en sliten men meget lykkelig gjeng. Børge er svært fornøyd med både styrken og innstillingen til teamet sitt. Han mener de har vært strålende å ha med på tur.
Nå venter og slapper de av i teltet. Håpet er å bli plukket op om noen timer og komme tilbake til Barneo i tide for et fly tilbake til Longyearbyen i kveldingen!
Så med litt hell er den første dusjen ikke langt unna. Da vil de nok fyre opp mobilene sine også, så bare sett i gang og bomb dem med hilsninger!
