2011 LOGOSaturday: They are in Antarctica. The flight went as scheduled and with a roar and a bang skidded they along the ice field. With all earwax removed, they cheered and climbed put into the beautiful cold and clear of Union Glacier.

Immediately they went to work and within a few hours they were ready to head out towards the Ross Barrier. – But by then the weather had closed in at the foot of the Axel Heiberg Glacier and for the time being will Union Glacier be their base. – Educated guesses say Tuesday before they can head out. Stay tuned.

Ilyushin IL76

The Ilyushin IL76 is the perfect work horse for Antarctica. Not pretty, but rock solid.
