Day 10, almost down

Published 11.08 in category Newtontoppen August 2018

The day started out with whiteout out and an area with crevasses… so like the last days we roped up ourself and the pulkas and got going.

There had been big changes on the glacier and many more visible crevasses.

Down, at the flat “base” of the Ferrierfjellet, the ice was now white instead of blue… It had a good crusty surface so no need for crampons. We took it nice and easy and covered 5,5 km and are now 5 km from the pickup point.

No need to sleep at the shore in the middle of polar bear territory !

All good and well !
