The choices and philosophy behind the equipment you end up with for your polar travel depends on a lot of variables: experience, where you go, aim of the trip, personal physical platforms – and probably your wallet.

We get a lot of explorers to Norway for this. It is often combined with training or a trip, but even just to nail the details on these equipment lists.

This is why:

• One of us will be available (if you like) so that you have a sparring partner. We then go through your lists (or ours) and, based on an understanding of you and what you may need, put together a shopping list/plan.

• We do believe that to work tirelessly and detailed on equipment and packing is one of the best ways to prepare. Not only item by item, but mentally. That is where you can make big personal gains.

• Norwegian equipment has been developed for centuries and has qualities that have repeatedly proven to do the job.

• We have great, highly specialized shops we have worked closely with for decades, run by folks who have been out there and understand how we think. We can promise that you will end up as friends with the girls and guys at Piteraq, Brynje, Norrøna, and others.

• For special needs we will connect directly to Åsnes, Helsport, Alfa, Norrøna, Brynje, Real / Drytech etc

• And to add to it all. The Norwegian currency is not very strong up against the big currencies. This means prices are pretty good here now.

• With our connections, you can rely on getting a discount when we show up in the stores we work closely with.

• And if that is not enough if you take the equipment out of Norway, you will also get the tax back.

It may sound like shopping in Norway is like winning in Lotto. It is still expensive, but all the plusses may mean you can afford better equipment and then take one more uncertainty out of the equation?
