snow at last

It is always very exciting to meet the snow. This year it goes all the way down to 800m. In a normal year we would not reach the snow until we get over 1100 m. We hope that this means nice traveling from here on.

It was a tough day with a steep climb over icy lumps and bumps. We had to ‘blow into the mountain’ many times. We have crossed many crevasses and Bengt found us a safe ice bridge with his snow probe over all of them. Now we are enjoying the warm afternoon sun and mounting the skins on the skis. Tomorrow we will go on on skis!
